Paul Pfeffer is the Manager of Educational Services for Connecticut Public Broadcasting. In his twenty plus years of television production experience, Paul has been nominated for and received local, regional and national writing, producing and directing credits, including awards from the Corporation for Pubic Broadcasting, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and two 2012 College/University Emmys, the first the CPBN Media Lab had entered.

He brings his extensive writing, producing, production and new media expertise to teach journalism and technical media skills to college interns in the CPBN Media Lab and to middle and high school students through workshops, seminars and year long, intensive on-site instruction.

The CPBN Media Lab’s goal is to create 21st century journalists and train instructors to pass that gift forward. Since 2007, CPBN Education has taught over 600 college, high school and middle school students.

CPBN Education welcomes the senior class of Hartford’s Journalism and Media Magnet Academy (JMMA) for their yearlong residency in our new Learning Lab, and with them the launch of a new PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Lab.

Paul’s career highlights include writing, producing, directing and post directing the national promotion of Barney & Friends, powering the most successful launch of a children’s program in the history of Public Television, serving as Executive Producer for the CPBN Media Lab’s winning entry in the CT. Secretary of State’s 2012 PSA competition for writing, shooting, producing and editing a 30 second PSA to encourage young people to vote and as an original station mentor and on-site educator for PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs in Connecticut.

Paul earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from Central Connecticut State University.
