Karen Davis is a bilingual, educator, activist, writer and former media executive with a Masters in Education. She has been hailed by The Miami Herald, Multichannel News, Crain’s Business and others for her start-up expertise launching media brands like HBO International, MTV, Todosport.com and The Weather Channel. She is known as much for her business and entrepreneurial acumen as her creative innovation in broadcasting. At the NBA, she crafted and secured the first major league sports deal with a Spanish language network. An Award-winning producer, she’s worked on television series, specials, events, and scripted and non-scripted productions at networks like NBC, TV Azteca, Telemundo and Nickelodeon.
She currently teaches digital natives the art of communicating through her Broadcasting classes at Miami Country Day School. In addition she runs the Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship (I.C.E.) Initiative there – a unique PK3-12 platform that supports the development of entrepreneurial endeavors by connecting students with community mentors who can help bring their ideas, projects and dreams to reality.
