William Isom II is a native of East Tennessee and a long-time worker for media and land justice in South America and Latin America. With 20 years of experience in a wide range of documentation processes, he works at the intersection of race, history and culture in his home region of Central Appalachia.
William is currently the coordinator of the Community Media Organizing Project: a partnership of progressive, grassroots, community-based organizations in the Southeast that utilize media production and coverage as an organizing tool. In addition, he is an active board member of the birdhouse Knoxville, Clean Water Expected in East Tennessee, The Latino Task Force-Morristown and volunteers with the African American Heritage Alliance of East Tennessee.
