2025 Teacher Workshop: Registration Now Open
Join us for a (FREE!!) immersive weekend workshop from July 25th–27th at the WETA/PBS News headquarters in Arlington, VA. This year’s Teacher Workshop is all about streamlining storytelling: what strategies can we apply to the production process to help students hone their perspective, refine their creative process, and produce compelling narratives efficiently?
Throughout the weekend, you’ll participate in hands-on workshops led by SRL staff and returning educators. Sessions will cover camera techniques, video editing, podcasting, motion graphics, scripting, interviewing, and using mobile devices for video production. Plus, we’ll explore practical ways to incorporate AI tools that enhance—not replace—creativity in the classroom.
This workshop is for educators who teach journalism, media, broadcasting, film or other related subjects, as well as teachers of other subjects who have brought video production into their curriculum.
Teachers will walk away with the tools and techniques to bring storytelling and technology together in their teaching.
NEW: This year, we’re covering lodging, meals, and providing up to $250 travel stipends to make attending our annual Teacher Workshop equitable and accessible for all educators!
