The latest cohort of PBS News Student Reporting Labs’ Summer Academy Fellows has arrived! From June 24 – 30,  18 fellows and two members of the behind the scenes reporting team will meet in Washington, D.C. for a week of free video journalism training to learn production skills, collaborate and produce their own reported stories spotlighting the DMV community. Lodging and training will take place on the Georgetown University campus.

In recognition of America’s 250th Anniversary, this year’s stories will focus on inspiring people in the DMV area and explore stories of America’s past, present, and hopes for the future. Meet the new class of Academy fellows below, and stay tuned for their stories around American identity coming this summer.

This level of free hands-on media education is made possible by support for public media programs like PBS News Student Reporting Labs and WETA. Consider donating today.
