SRL on location in Coachella

The Coachella Valley Unified School District in California is one of the poorest districts in the U.S. To provide Internet access to students who live in neighborhoods that lack reliable wireless connections, the district installed solar-powered Wi-Fi routers on school buses. Everyday, the buses are parked in neighborhoods and trailer park homes so that students can do their homework online. Read More

Students document positive relationships with their school safety officers

School resource officers (SROs) are required by South Carolina law in all middle and high schools. But the recent viral video of an officer at Spring Valley High School forcibly removing a 16-year-old student has raised serious questions about the relationship between students, SROs and other law enforcement officials in schools.
