Alaskan youth outreach worker helps teens experiencing homelessness

Alaska Teen Media Institute | Anchorage, AK

The mission of Alaska Youth Advocates (AYA) is to help at-risk teenagers. From clothing to a place to live, the organization is dedicated to getting adolescents on their feet. AYA also offers personal counseling for those who request it. Drake King, a former beneficiary of the program, is now a youth outreach worker himself, and told student reporters from Alaska Teen Media Institute about his experience.

Produced by Danielle DuClos, Ariana O’Harra, Michael Stallworth, Daisy Carter, and James Schultz at Alaska Teen Media Institute in Anchorage, Alaska. Instruction provided by SRL Connected Educator E. Rosey Robards.
