Speech pathologist brings Snoezelen to Chicago to help students with disabilities
Free Spirit Media | Chicago, IL
Snoezelen is a made-up Dutch word that means to relax and to explore. Marilyn Sandler, a speech pathologist, worked with Snoezelen abroad and raised over $150,000 to bring it to her school and help children with special needs communicate better with those around them. She told a group of student reporters from Free Spirit Media that she designed the space to engage children while teaching them to interact with their environment in a safe and comfortable way.
Produced by Patricia Joyner, Desireé Williams and Jalen Young at Free Spirit Media in Chicago, Illinois. Instruction provided by SRL Connected Educators Mike Falevits and Rachel Jones.
