University of Arizona students work with Indigenous communities on climate change challenges

The University of Arizona – Tucson | Tucson, AZ

A 2021 Yale University study found that Indigenous tribes face the greatest challenges due to the historical dispossession of 99 percent of their native land. The Indigenous Resource Center founded by Associate Professor of Environmental Science Karletta Chief at the University of Arizona connects students to Indigenous communities to solve problems with water, food and natural resources caused by climate change with funding from the National Science Foundation.
