How YOU can participate in SRL’s first-ever Youth Debate Watch Party

We’re gearing up for our first-ever Youth Media Watch Party for the Democratic debate hosted by PBS NewsHour and POLITICO in Los Angeles, California. On Thursday, December 19, we will be streaming the debate LIVE on our website, along with a post-debate panel discussion with young voters moderated by Univision’s Yarel Ramos.

The debate is from 7:00 – 9:30 pm EST / 5:00-7:30 pm PST. SRL’s student panel will be streamed immediately following the debate.

The event will take place at Loyola Marymount University with students from our Labs in Southern California.


HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE

  1. Host your own watch party. Gather a group of students, wear your SRL t-shirts, and stream the debate LIVE from NewsHour. Download this worksheet on the Debate and this custom-created #DemDebate BINGO sheet.

  3. Stick around for a post-debate panel discussion with young voters that will be streamed LIVE on the SRL website

WHY:  One in 10 eligible voters is Generation Z (between ages 18 and 23). This is an unprecedented opportunity to give them a voice on the issues facing the country. This election will shape their civic perceptions for the rest of their lives.
