Oakland Unified School District moves forward with school closure plan amid protests

The Oakland Unified School District voted to reaffirm the decision to close or merge 11 schools by 2024 at the June school board meeting. Parents and community members opposed to the closures say the process is rushed and negatively impacts students and families.
